Multibyte Equivalents

Japanese character sets include the encoded value of certain characters, such as numbers, in both single-byte and multibyte form. For example, the local single-byte encoding of 4 is 0x34, while the multibyte encoding of 4 is 0x8253. Both encoded values are included in the JA16SJIS character set.

The Multibyte Equivalents screen maps the single-byte and multibyte values of such characters to each other.
