Ligature Table
Ligature applies to character sets that have the DISPLAY flag set. (See Type
Specification.) Ligature refers to the formation of a character from other
characters, primarily in Arabic and Devangari.
The ligature table contains:
- The local code value of the first character
- The first glyph
- The local code value of the second character
- The second glyph
- The local code value of the ligature
- The ligature glyph
Searching for a Ligature
You can search for an existing ligature:
- Click Search. The Table Search dialog box will appear.
- Enter the code value (of the first character, second character, or ligature)
or the glyph (of the first character, second character, or ligature) in the
appropriate field of the Table Search dialog box.
- Click Go.
If the information that you enter is unique, then the row will appear in the
stationary dialog box. If it is not unique, then the first occurrence of the
information is highlighted in the table.
Adding, Modifying, and Deleting Information
You can add a ligature to the character set:
- Click New.
- Specify the code values of the first and second characters and the ligature
in the appropriate fields of the stationary dialog box. Specify the glyphs
of the first and second characters and the ligature in the appropriate fields
of the stationary dialog box.
- Click Add.
You can modify existing information:
- Click the row that you want to modify. It will appear in the stationary
dialog box.
- Make the desired changes.
- Click Modify.
You can delete a row:
- Click the row that you want to delete. It will appear in the stationary
dialog box.
