Defining a New Multilingual Linguistic Sort

You can create a new multilingual linguistic sort based on an existing sort definition:

1. Click Show Existing Definitions.
2. Highlight a collation name.
3. Click Open.
4. Change the Collation Name to a unique name.
5. Change the Collation ID to a number between 10,000 and 11,000.
6. Modify characteristics such as Expanding Rules.
7. Save the new multilingual linguistic sort definition by choosing File > Save As, choosing the location in which to save the file, and clicking Save.

You can also create a new multilingual linguistic sort by entering data for each set of characteristics:

• Unicode collation sequence
• Non-spacing characters
• Punctuation characters
• Context-sensitive rules
• Expanding rules
• Base letters
• Special uppercase letters
• Special lowercase letters
• Special base letters
