Character Classification
Characters can be classified as uppercase letters, punctuation, or control
characters, for example. The Character Classification screen shows:
- The encoded value of the character in the local character set
- The glyph that represents the character
- The classification of the character
Searching for a Character Classification
You can search for an existing character classification:
- Click Search. The Table Search dialog box will appear.
- Enter the local character value, glyph, or classification in the appropriate
field of the Table Search dialog box and click the Enter key.
- Click Go.
If the local character value or glyph is in the character set, then its row
will be highlighted. If you search for a classification, then its first occurrence
is highlighted.
NOTE: The classification must match exactly. For example, if you search
for SPACE, but SPACE occurs only with PRINTABLE, then the search will not return
a result unless you specify SPACE,PRINTABLE.
