File Location Variables

If you have your own user-defined variables, specify the variable name and value. Variables allow you to centralize data information and create database templates with general parameters. Use variables when:

• You anticipate moving from one platform to another

• You are making changes in multiple places within the same file system

Oracle Database Creation Assistant automatically fills the variable and value for the following parameters:

• ORACLE_BASE

• ORACLE_HOME

• DB_NAME

• SID

These values are based on the choices you provided during the database creation.
