Enter directory paths to the control files or accept the default paths. A control file is required to mount, open, and access the database. The control file stores all database and log files, synchronization information required for recovery, and the name of the database. You must back up the control file any time there are structural changes to the database.
Recommended configuration is a minimum of three control files on different disks. The initialization file parameter CONTROL_FILES identifies the directory paths of the control files. Database Configuration Assistant does not automatically place both control files on different disks. You must perform this manually.
If you want to add a tablespace, click Add. To remove a tablespace, select the file name and click Remove.
