Use this page to automatically manage maintenance tasks such as optimizer statistics collection and proactive advisor reports. This feature facilitates out-of-the-box management of resource distribution (CPU and input-output resources) among the various database maintenance tasks, such as Automatic Optimizer Statistics Collection and Automatic Segment Advisor. It ensures that end-user activity is not impacted during the maintenance operation, and that the activity gets enough resources to carry out its work to completion.
The Enable automatic maintenance tasks checkbox is selected by default. To disable automatic maintenance, you can clear the Enable automatic maintenance tasks checkbox.
Automatic maintenance tasks are run in a predefined maintenance window. The default maintenance windows are scheduled from 10:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M. on weekdays, and throughout the day on weekends. You can change these default timings at any time using Enterprise Manager.
