Select one of the following installation options:
Select this option if you plan to install Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC), or you intend to install Oracle Clusterware and ASM, and you do not have an existing Oracle Clusterware installation on your server.
Select this option to install grid infrastructure for a single server. Grid infrastructure includes Oracle Automatic Storage Management and Oracle Restart.
Select this option to upgrade an existing Oracle Clusterware and Oracle Automatic Storage Management (Oracle ASM) installation.
You must select this option to upgrade an existing ASM installation, or use Automatic Storage Manager Configuration Assistant (ASMCA) after installing the grid infrastructure to upgrade Oracle ASM. Because Oracle ASM 11g release 2 (11.2) runs from the grid infrastructure home, you cannot upgrade Oracle ASM during an Oracle RAC installation or Oracle Database Installation. You can use this option to perform a rolling upgrade of part of the nodes in an existing cluster, or all of the nodes in the cluster.
Select this option to install the software binaries for Oracle Clusterware or Oracle Restart and Automatic Storage Management on the local node. This option will install the binaries only. No configuration is done during installation. This option is for advanced users, because manual configuration is required to enable the software.
