Select the Failure Isolation Support option that you want to use to manage the software, and then click Next. Select from the following choices:
Use Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI)
Oracle provides the option of implementing Failure Isolation Support using Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI). Ensure that you have hardware installed and drivers in place before you select this option.
Do not use Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI)
Select this option to choose not to use IPMI.
The Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) specification defines a set of common interfaces to computer hardware and firmware that system administrators can use to monitor system health, and manage the server.
IPMI operates independently of the operating system and allows administrators to manage a system remotely even in the absence of the operating system or the system management software, or even if the monitored system is not powered on. IPMI can also function when the operating system has started, and offers enhanced features when used with the system management software.
