patch cache

The section of the Oracle Management Repository that stores Oracle patches and patchsets. The patches and patchsets in the patch cache were either downloaded from the OracleMetaLink Web site to the patch cache by Enterprise Manager, or they were manually added to the patch cache by users. The patches in the patch cache will be used during "offline patching". During offline patching, the patching wizard will not communicate with OracleMetaLink directly.
