Configuring OID Realm Administration

An Oracle Internet Directory identity management realm is a subtree of directory entries, all of which are governed by the same administrative policies. The identity management realm encompasses the databases and enterprise domains that are part of the realm.

An identity management realm contains administrative groups related to Enterprise User Security. Examples of such groups include database security administrators (and database registration administrators. You can manage the membership for these groups using Enterprise Manager.

Enterprise Manager also allows you to set the database-to-directory authentication mechanism (password or SSL).
