Use the Topology page to:
View the relationship between the Web application and its dependencies, including other service tests, system key components, and Network Manager Adapter. For more information on Network Manager Adapter plug-ins, refer to About the SMARTS Network Adapter. All determinants for your Web application's availability are displayed in the Topology Viewer.
View the causes of failure, as identified by Root Cause Analysis. Potential root causes are highlighted with a red box. Down targets are shown in red. Select highlighted links to view details for the cause of failure.
The Topology Viewer provides a graphical representation of the components of your Web application. The Topology Viewer shows all dependent components and subservices, represented as icons, as well as the relationships between them, represented as links. For system components, only key components are displayed.
The status indicators over each icon enable you to quickly assess which components are down or have open alerts. When you select an icon, you see more information in the Selection Details window. Refer to the icon key for more details.
Use the Overview window to set the zoom level for the main window. The Overview window always displays the entire workspace for the topology; the zoom setting changes the size of the view selector (the blue box) and the view in the main window. Drag and drop the view selector in the Overview window to choose what to display in the main window.
When you select an icon in the main window, the Selection Details window displays information about that component, including target type, name, status, alerts and violations, and host where the component resides, as well as root causes and services impacted. or system performance and embed the topology in the report.
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is a new graphics file format and Web development language based on XML. SVG enables Web developers and designers to create dynamically-generated, high-quality graphics from real-time data with precise structural and visual control.
