Processing Call Stack Page

Use this page to review performance data for all the J2EE subsystem components called by the selected URL. By understanding the relationship between the components and order in which components are called, you can isolate specific performance issues and make better decisions about where to focus your application tuning efforts.

This page is part of the Middle-Tier Request Performance Monitoring features of Oracle Enterprise Manager. For more information about obtaining a complete, end-to-end view of your application performance, see About Monitoring Middle Tier Performance.

Usage Tips

Click Expand All to expand the table to show how the selected URL invoked the various subsystem components and relationship between each component. For example, the indentation of the table reveals how a servlet can invoke a JSP, which in turn can invoke a JDBC connection and various SQL statements.

Each row of the table represents the invocation of a component type. For each invocation, you can view the performance data described in the following table. For more specific information, drill down into a specific invocation.

Metric

Description

% of Request

The amount of time spent in this call per each request as a percentage of the total request processing time.

Exclusive to Call (ms)

The time spent in a call, exclusive of any time spent in other calls made from this component call. For example, if a call took a total of 10 seconds and calls made from this call took 7 seconds, then the time exclusive to this call is the difference (3 seconds).

In Callouts (ms) The time spent in calls made from this call; In the above example, this would be the 7 seconds.
