This page presents the SQL queries, database statistics and execution plan and provides the user with the tools to diagnose and correct the SQL query. For each SQL query, the SQL Statement, schema and the database connection string is provided.
Compare this data with Request Performance Monitoring information to obtain a complete, end-to-end view of your application performance. For more information, see About Monitoring Middle Tier Performance.
Consider these usage tips while reviewing the performance data on this page.
Use the request processing time and load chart to investigate the impact of database server activity on the request response time. Note the number of hits versus the time spent processing each of the database subsystem components over the past 24 hours, 7 days, or 31 days. You can use this data to identify trends or to isolate periods when performance was less than optimal.
Use the Processing Time Breakdown chart to analyze the middle tier at the subcomponent level. This allows you to make informed and accurate decisions in order to tune or repair the appropriate elements of a Web application.
Analyze each subsystem component further by drilling down on either the Processing Time Per Hit or Database Time links.
Both charts on this page show you the average time spent processing each database component each time the URL was accessed by a user. In addition, the Processing Time Breakdown section of the page shows you the average number of servlets, JSPs, EJB methods, and SQL statements invoked each time the URL was accessed.
To gain more insight into the performance of your middle-tier components, consider these tips:
To correlate the middle-tier processing time and load data with other application performance data, such as resource utilization, response, load, target availability, and other component metrics, click Correlate Performance.
To view the entire URL processing call stack, including the relationship and order of the components called by this URL, click Processing Call Stack.
