Use this page to review the performance of the middle tier of your Web application. You can monitor the middle-tier performance recorded for individual requests as users accessed each page of your Web application.
Use this data to identify the ten slowest requests in terms of the time taken to process the data in the middle tier. These are the requests that likely require the most processing by the application server and its back-end components. You can view slowest requests by:
Web Server Average Time
Application Server Average Time
To learn more about the middle-tier performance of your Web application requests:
Drill down on the Server Time Details charts to view details about the performance of the middle-tier and back-end components as they processed the request.
You can view the ten slowest requests by average time for each of the tiers (Web Server, Application Server, Database Server) by selecting the appropriate tier from the Slowest Requests By drop-down list.
Enter a value in the Minimum Web Server / Application Server Request Count field. Only requests which have a count equal to or greater than this number are displayed in the table.
Click Show All Requests to view all the slowest requests instead of just the slowest ten.
Click on a specific request to view the performance details in the application and database tier.
Click on a value under the Application Server - Average Time (ms) column to view the performance in the J2EE tier.
Click on a value under the Database Server - Average Time (ms) column to view the performance in the database tier.
Troubleshooting Tip: If no data appears in the Middle-Tier Performance section of the Page Performance Page, the Web server is not configured correctly and middle tier performance may not have been enabled. For more information, see Configuring OC4J for Middle-Tier Request Performance Monitoring.
