Use this page to correlate the request processing time or the OC4J component processing time with other performance metrics collected by Enterprise Manager. Comparing the processing time metrics with other metrics during the same period can help you identify the root cause of application performance problems.
For example, the Request Processing Time and Load chart on the Request Performance in J2EE and Database page already provides you with the number of hits on the request and the time spent processing each of the J2EE subsystem components over the past 24 hours, 7 days, or 31 days. Use this page to compare that data with other metrics over the same period of time.
If there is a spike in the response time for the selected request, you can correlate that data with the other metrics to see if there was an unusual load on other areas of the application server, host, or database during that same period.
This page is part of the Middle-Tier Request Performance Monitoring features of Oracle Enterprise Manager. For more information about obtaining a complete, end-to-end view of your application performance, see About Middle Tier Performance Monitoring.
By default, the Correlate Application Performance pages correlates the request processing time and load data with the Web application Memory and CPU usage over the same period.
To investigate how other performance metrics were performing during the same period, select additional metrics and click Correlate at the bottom of the page.
Click anywhere in the bar above the Processing Time and Load chart to highlight an area of the chart. The highlight will appear in the same location in all the charts on the page, making it easier to compare the metric performance during the selected period.
Note: If you are using the SVG Viewer to display your charts, you can drag the highlighted area to a new location on the page. For more information, see About the SGV Viewer.
By default, can correlate the processing time and load data with a set of common metrics. However, you can expand the list of available metrics by selecting Summary Metrics or All Metrics from the drop-down menu. The following table describes the options in the drop-down menu.

Option
|
Description
|
|---|---|
| Common Metrics | Displays a set of metrics that are commonly used to identify root causes of performance issues. |
| Summary Metrics |
Displays the summary metrics for each of the key components of your Web application, including OC4J, Oracle HTTP Server, and database metrics. A set of summary metrics is defined for each target type in Enterprise Manager. For example, if you create a target group for monitoring purposes, you can identify a set of summary metrics to compare among targets of the same type. |
| All Metrics | Displays both the common metrics and the summary metrics. |
