Use this page to identify and configure the Oracle Containers for Java (OC4J) instances you are using to deploy your Web applications. By configuring the OC4J instances on this page, you make it possible to analyze the middle-tier performance of your Web application pages.
If no OC4J instances appear on this page, you must select an OC4J instance as a key component to this Web application target. Click System Configuration to display the system associated with this Web application target and the set of targets selected as key components of this Web application target. Use this page to select a system and/or to select the key OC4J components of this Web application target.
OC4J targets that are members of an OC4J cluster need to be configured independently. This page lists the member OC4J targets of all the OC4J cluster targets selected as key components of this Web application target.
For each OC4J component in the current Web application target, this page provides the information and configuration options, as shown in the following table.
Column |
Description |
|---|---|
| Agent Status | This column shows the status of the Oracle Management Agent on the host where the OC4J instance resides. If the Oracle Management Agent is down, no middle-tier URL performance data can be retrieved from the OC4J instance. For more information about starting, stopping, and configuring the Oracle Management Agent, see Oracle Enterprise Manager Advanced Configuration. |
| Collection Enabled | When you select this check box, Oracle Enterprise Manager will begin collecting middle-tier URL performance data from the Oracle Web Cache instance. |
| Interval (minutes) | This setting controls the interval between data collections performed by the Oracle Management Agent on the Web Cache Host. The recommended setting is 60 minutes. |
| Enable Logging | Click the Enable Logging to display the OC4J Tracing Properties page in the Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control. From this page, you can enable OC4J logging, which is required; otherwise, Enterprise Manager cannot collect middle-tier URL performance data. For more information, see Configuring OC4J for Middle-Tier URL Performance Monitoring. |
