For each service, you can define an interval (which determines how often the service test will be triggered against your application) and the performance thresholds. When a service test exceeds its performance thresholds, an alert is generated.
To set intervals and thresholds:
Navigate to the Services main page.
Select a service test from the list and click Configure.
Click Service Tests and Beacons.
Select the transaction and click Monitoring Settings for Tests.
Enterprise Manager displays the list of Web transactions for which the thresholds and collection settings have to be defined and navigate to the Collection Settings Page. In this page, you can set the threshold at the beacon level or at the property level. For more information, see Monitoring Settings - Collection Settings Page.
