Usage measures the user demand for the service. Monitoring the service usage helps diagnose poor performance by indicating whether the service is affected by high usage or by a system component problem.
Usage is based on the metrics of the system components that host the service. You can define a metric for a specific component such as the database to calculate the total number of database users. You can also statistically combine (avg/min/max/sum) metric from set of components. For example: Minimum (Queries Per Hour) between LDAP Server1 and LDAP Server2.
