Ensure that the Oracle Management Agent is up and running efficiently since monitoring of targets can only be done when the Oracle Management Agent is up and running. More information on Oracle Management Agents is available at About Oracle Management Agents.
To check the status of an Oracle Management Agent:
From the Enterprise Manager Console, click Setup.
Note: Only certain privileged Enterprise Manager administrators will have access to the all administrative functions of the Setup tab. See About Privileges for Accessing the Management System Tab for more information.
Click the Agents subtab to display a list of Oracle Management Agents currently providing monitoring information to the current instance of the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console. You can check the general status of all Oracle Management Agents on this page.
Select the Oracle Management Agent that is on the same machine where your targets reside.
On the Oracle Management Agent Homepage, check:
if Oracle Management Agent is up or down
if the Oracle Management Agent is uploading data to the Management Repository and Oracle Management Service
if there are any errors associated with the Oracle Management Agent. For example, is there a last attempted upload failure? Is the last successful upload timestamp old?
From the Oracle Management Agent Homepage, you can also find out which targets are being monitored by the Oracle Management Agent.
