Verifying Prerequisites Before Adding a Network Appliance Filer

Before adding a Network Appliance Filer as an Oracle Enterprise Manager target, do the following:

Identify the Management Agent host that will be used to collect the monitoring metrics of the Filer.
Verify that you are able to ping the Filer from the Management Agent host and the response time is less than 3 milliseconds.

% ping <Filer_Hostname>
Verify that SNMP is correctly configured on the Filer and you have used the correct host name and SNMP community string for the added Filer target.
