To add a Filer so it appears as a managed target on the All Targets page:
From the Enterprise Manager Grid Control page, click Setup at the top of the page.
Click the Agents subtab.
Enterprise Manager displays a list of hosts where the Oracle Management Agent software is installed.
Select an Enterprise Manager Management Agent host, which will be used to collect the monitoring metrics for the Filer. Note: The Management Agent must be a Management Agent provided for the Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10g Release 2 or later.
Select Network Appliance Filer from the Add list and click Go.
Enterprise Manager displays the Add Network Appliance Filer page.
Use the Add Network Appliance Filer page to provide required information about the Filer, such as the host name, the SNMP community string, and the SNMP timeout.
Click Test Connection to verify the Network Appliance Filer.
Note: The number of network hops between the Management Agent host and target filer should be as small as possible. It is highly recommended that the icmp ping response time be less than 3 milliseconds. The Test Connection operation warns you if the given Management Agent is not optimal for monitoring the specified filer target.
Click OK to add the target.
Optionally, add the NetApp Filers subtab to the list of subtabs automatically visible as part of the Targets tab.
Optionally, add the Filer to a target group. Oracle recommends that you create a group for Network Appliance Filers so that the summary metrics can be viewed at the group level for all the Filers.
