clonable home

A clonable home is an Oracle home that Enterprise Manager recognizes as clonable.

Enterprise Manager can clone an Oracle home when either of the following is true:

• The Oracle home was installed from an Oracle Universal Installer installation kit that has built-in cloning support. For example, the installation kits for Oracle Database 10g have built-in cloning support.

• The Oracle home can be made clonable by installing clone support files.

  For example, Oracle Database 9.2.0.x, which is not readily clonable, can be made clonable when the appropriate "Clone Support Files" for this database release are installed into the OMS home.
