The Metric Detail page displays details about the metric as either a current real time value (30 seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes) or a previous value (past 24 hours, 7 days, or 31 days). The historical information is displayed as graphs and a table. Using the graphs you can easily watch for trends. Using the table, you can examine details of past metric severity history.
Additional data includes all notifications that were sent in response to the alert, as well as a way for administrators to log annotations about the metric in the alert.
The following table lists the fields and sections on this page to which you should pay close attention:
| Field |
Description/Recommendation |
| View Data |
Lets you choose either real time values or historic values. Real time values of the metric are accessed directly from the Oracle Management Agent. The historic values (last 24 hours, last 7 days, last 31 days) reflect data stored in the repository. You can also specify a custom time period for viewing metric data. The associated graph indicates the minimum, maximum, and average values of the metric over the time chosen. The values are shown by way of the individual vertical lines that are shown on the graph: the top of the line is the maximum, the bottom of the line is the minimum, and midway there is a mark indicating the average. |
| Statistics |
Statistics information is extracted from the repository. The Last Known Value represents the latest available data uploaded from the Agent to the repository. |
| Metric Value |
The x-axis of the graph refers to the interval of time, that is, real time, last 24 hours, last 7 days, or last 31 days. The data in the y-axis is dependent on the metric itself. For example, for the Average Disk I/O Wait Time (ms), the y-axis data refers to milliseconds. |
| Compare Objects (optional, target dependent) |
Contrasts the currently selected object against similar objects on this target. In the following example, the Filesystem Space Available (%) metric on host1 monitors the mount Points: /, /private, and /private1. If you are currently viewing the available space on /private1, then you can compare this available space with the available space on / and /private. The comparisons are plotted on the Metric Value chart. |
| Compare Target (optional, target dependent) |
Compares the details of the currently selected metric on this target with the details of the same metric on a different target of the same type. For example, you can compare the CPU Utilization (%) metric on host1 with the CPU Utilization (%) metric on host2 and host3. The comparisons are plotted on the Metric Value chart. |
| Acknowledge | Displays the Alert Acknowledged confirmation page, allowing you to acknowledge the alert. Acknowleging an alert indicates that an administrator has looked at the alert. Acknowledgement stops all further notifications for the alert and also stops repeat e-mail notifications, if enabled. This link is shown only if you have at least OPER privileges on the target and the current severity is Warning or Critical. |
| Metric and Policy Settings |
Displays the Metric and Policy Settings page. The this page is the starting point for customizing thresholds for your metrics. You can review the current metric settings. |
| Alert History |
Columns displayed in the table are dependent on the target. Note: If <SYSTEM> appears in the User Name column, this means that the message was generated by Enterprise Manager and the message cannot be changed. |
