Use this page to specify a diagnostic destination under the Oracle base directory.
This diagnostic destination location will contain all Automatic Diagnostic Repository (ADR) directories (diagnostic files such as alert logs, and so on).
This diagnostic destination directory is required when upgrading a pre-Oracle Database 11g database to an Oracle Database 11g and higher release of the database. If the Oracle base directory already exists, then the Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA) automatically retrieves this information and pre-populates its path.
Note: From Oracle Database release 11g onwards, the initialization parameter settings for background dump, user dump, and core dump destinations will now be replaced by the Diagnostic Destination.
