In Enterprise Manager, there exists many categories of policies. This topic provides examples of how to use security and configuration policies.
Example of a Security Policy
For all databases in the enterprise, ensure database profiles have been defined such that a new user account must have its password changed within one day. Check this policy on a daily basis. If a violation occurs, lock the account.
Example of a Configuration Policy
For all targets, any Oracle patch identified as a critical patch must be installed. Perform this check when the Oracle inventory information is refreshed. If the patch has not been installed, send e-mail to an administrator.
