Enterprise Manager lets you update the Oracle Management Repository with the current patch selection criteria at OracleMetaLink. This feature enables you to stage and apply the latest Oracle patches and patchsets at OracleMetaLink. See About Patching for overview information about patching.
When Enterprise Manager was released, the Management Repository was populated with the patch selection criteria that was being used at OracleMetaLink. Over time, new patch selection criteria become available at OracleMetaLink (for example, as new patches become available for new product releases). You need to update the Management Repository periodically to update its patch selection criteria to match the latest patch selection criteria at OracleMetaLink. After you update the patch selection criteria in the Management Repository, you can use Enterprise Manager to find the latest Oracle patches and patch sets at OracleMetaLink, then stage and apply them to targets on your accessible hosts (hosts on which the Oracle Management Agent is running).
To update the Management Repository with the current patch selection criteria at OracleMetaLink:
Click Setup at the top of any Enterprise Manager page.
On the Setup page, click Patching Setup.
Enterprise Manager displays the Patching Setup page. Click Help for more information about updating the Management Repository with the current OracleMetaLink patch selection criteria.
