Removing a Patch from the Patch Cache

You can use Enterprise Manager to simplify the staging and application of Oracle patches and patchsets. The Enterprise Manager patch cache contains patches and patch sets that Enterprise Manager can stage and apply to accessible hosts (hosts on which the Oracle Management Agent is running). In some cases, you may want to manually remove patches or patchsets from the patch cache. For overview information about patching, see About Patching.

Note: When the patch cache reaches the specified maximum size, patches that were automatically added to the patch cache are automatically removed from the patch cache (starting with the oldest patches). Enterprise Manager uses this automatic purging in an attempt to keep the patch cache below the specified maximum size.

If the automatic patch cache purge mechanism in Enterprise Manager does not sufficiently reduce the patch cache size, you can manually remove any or all of the patches that were manually added to the patch cache.

To manually remove a patch from the patch cache, click View Patch Cache on the Deployments page. Enterprise Manager displays the Patch Cache page. Click Help for more information about removing a patch.
