This topic describes some general information about using Enterprise Manager charts.
For example, if an Enterprise Manager chart does not indicate a specific time range, the chart is displaying the values of one or more metrics for the past 24 hours.
The legend below a line chart identifies the metric or metrics whose values are displayed in the chart. Each metric in the chart is assigned its own color.
The horizontal axis of the chart is the time axis. The vertical axis of the chart is the units of measure axis.
Some charts show values for more than one metric. For example, one common use of a chart on a Home Page is to display a response metric and a load metric for a target. In this case, the top part of the chart is a line chart that plots the values for the response metric. The bottom part of the chart is a bar chart that plots the values for the load metric. A gray band separates the plotted values for the two metrics.
If warning and critical severity thresholds are set for a metric, a yellow band in the chart indicates the range of values for the warning threshold, and a red band indicates the range of values for the critical threshold.
Some charts (for example, the Database performance charts) are optimized for use with the SVG Viewer, which provides added features for analyzing or drilling down for more information within the chart. For more information, see About the SVG Viewer.
