The Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control provides a Web-based interface for managing your entire e-business enterprise. Oracle designed the Grid Control so you can quickly and easily complete the most common and important monitoring and administrative tasks from any location where you can access a Web browser.
The following table provides a brief description of the main areas of functionality provided by the Grid Control. From this table you can learn how the Grid Control is designed to provide you with high-level monitoring data, as well as the ability to drill down to investigate, isolate, and repair availability and performance problems:

The Enterprise Manager Grid Control offers centralized management for your entire Oracle environment and works in concert with the Enterprise Manager Application Server Control. The Application Server Control is used to manage and configure individual application server instances, farms, and clusters. You can access the Application Server Control from the Grid Control by clicking Administer on individual Oracle Application Server component home pages in the Grid Control.
To access the Grid Control from the Application Server Control, enter a URL of the following format:
http://management_service_host.domain:port/em
In this example, the Management Service host is the computer where you have installed the Management Service. For example:
http://mgmt1.acme.com:7777/em
