Importing from a Database

Oracle Enterprise Manager allows you to import the contents of a database by using the Import from Database wizard. You can import an entire database, schemas within a database and the objects in the schemas, or one or more tables from within a schema.

Note: Import and Export Enterprise Manager jobs for a 10g database are implemented as data pump jobs. If the underlying data pump job is suspended, the associated Enterprise Manager job displays a status of "Failed". Use the "Monitor Data Pump Job" button on the Enterprise Manager job summary page to resume a suspended data pump job. Data pump jobs that have actually failed cannot be resumed; attempting to do so generates an informational message. If the data pump job subsequently succeeds, the Enterprise Manager job displays a status of "Successful".

To import the data from a database, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Database Home page.

  2. On the Data Movement tab, click Import from Database in the Move Row Data section.

The Import from Database wizard appears which walks you through the process of importing the data from a database.

  3. Choose the Import Type and follow the remainder of the steps to import the database data.

Click Help for more information about importing from a database.
