Generating and Modifying Optimizer Statistics

Oracle Enterprise Manager allows you to collect, estimate, and delete statistics while improving the performance of SQL queries against your objects.

To generate and modify optimizer statistics, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Database Home page.

2. On the Server tab under Statistics Management, click Manage Optimizer Statistics.
   
3. Choose Gather Optimizer Statistics from the list in the Operations section of the Manage Optimizer Statistics page.

   The Gather Statistics wizard appears which walks you through the process selecting the objects and customizing the options to generate statistics. Finally, you can review your input and start or schedule the gather statistic task.
