Oracle Enterprise Manager allows you to manage the list of database links associated with the current database through the Database Links property sheet. You can use the property sheet to create, delete and modify the settings of a database link.
The Database Links page allows you to specify the service name and whether the database link is public or universally available. You can also designate how users connect to the linked database.
To manage a database link:
Navigate to the Database Home page.
On the Schema tab, click Database Links in the Database Objects section.
The Database Links Search page appears containing a results table listing all current database links for the current database.
Choose the action you want to perform. You can create a new database link or you can select a database link from the results list and choose one of the actions from the command drop down list.
Note: If you are creating the database link on an Oracle 8.1.7 database, the name you designate in the Name field must be identical to the TNS Name Alias you enter in the Service Name field for the linked database.
