Import Net Service Names to Directory Server Page

Use this page to import existing net service names from a local tnsnames.ora file into the Oracle internet directory server. You can specify the directory location to import the net services names.

There are several benefits to storing the net service names in Oracle internet directory. For more information, see "Configuring Naming Methods" in the Oracle Net Services Administrator's Guide.

Usage Tips

To import the net service names from the tnsnames.ora:
  1. Verify that you are importing the net service names into the proper Oracle context in the directory server.

    For more information about defining the Oracle context within the directory server, see the section "Exporting Local Naming and Oracle Names Entries to a Directory Naming" in the chapter "Configuring Naming Methods" in the Oracle Net Services Administrator's Guide.

  2. Click Add to display the Add Net Services to Import page, which lists the net service names currently defined in the tnsnames.ora file.

  3. Select the net service names that you want to import, and click OK.

    Enterprise Manager returns you to the Import Net Service Names to Directory Server page. The net service names you have selected are shown in the table at the bottom of the page.

  4. Click Import to import the selected net service names into the directory.
