How Management Pack Access Control Works

Every pack applicable to a target must be individually granted access to that target or should receive access from another parent target.

The following two scenarios illustrate access control:

Consider a scenario, where databases D1, D2, and D3 reside on host H1. If the user has access to the Database Tuning pack for database D1, then not only is the D1 database granted access to the Database Tuning pack but the host H1 is granted access to this pack as well.
Consider a scenario where an Application Server installation has access to the Application Server Diagnostics pack. In this case, the other targets which are associated with this Application Server installation (OC4J, HTTP Server, Web Cache, and OID LDAP Server) are granted access to the Application Server Diagnostics pack as well.
