Use this page to define a SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) service test to monitor the availability and response time of the Web service.
SOAP is an XML-based message protocol used by Web Services. Most Web services accept messages using HTTP. Each SOAP message consists of a single SOAP envelope. An envelope defines how to process the message, who should process the message, and whether processing is optional or mandatory. It also contains encoding rules for exchanging instances of application-defined data types. An envelope consists of two blocks:
Optional Header Block - This block includes application specific information.
Mandatory Body: This block contains details of the data to be sent to the SOAP receiver. It also includes the method call details.
To define the SOAP service test, follow the steps given below:
Enter the name and description of the test.
Specify the Collection Frequency at which the test will be executed and metrics will be collected.
