The Forms Transaction Recorder allows you to record transactions on a Forms Application. After you have recorded a transaction, you can replay it using beacons, monitor the Forms Application periodically and collect relevant metrics.
For Oracle Applications, you can record and monitor only the Forms actions in a Forms transaction. For example, if you have clicked on several links in site that loads several HTML documents before invoking Forms, the HTML part of the transaction will not be recorded or monitored. To record and monitor a HTML-based Oracle Application, you can use the Web Transaction Recorder that is available for the Web Application. Refer to About the Web Transaction Recorder.
After you have have created a Forms Application, you can record a Forms Transaction while creating or editing a Forms Transaction service test.
Before you monitor a Forms Application, you must configure the Forms server so that the Forms transactions can be recorded. For more information, see Enable Forms Transaction Monitoring Page.
During recording, the Forms Application that is being monitored can be running either on the HTTP or HTTPS protocol.
