Baseline Normalized Metrics Page

The baseline normalized metrics page does not show a moving window baseline. It shows the active baseline, which could be a moving window baseline or a static baseline.

Use the Baseline Normalized Metrics page to:

Normalizing a metric means reducing it to a known range so it can be compared to other metrics computed in different units (or differing by scale). In this case, the metrics are normalized by significance level so that different metrics — possibly having widely varying absolute values — will be charted at the same height when their observed values have the same respective statistical significance. This page shows only metrics of the active baseline, which could be a moving window baseline or a static baseline.

Usage Tips

Consider the following guidelines as you review the Baseline Normalized Metric page.

Selecting Other Metrics for Viewing

To view data for metrics other than those currently appearing on this page, click Configure. The Configure Normalization page appears, where you can select any combination of nine metrics.

Selecting a Historical View

When you select Historical from the View Data drop-down list, a Configure Normalization Interval page appears where you can specify the beginning and ending times for the time period you want to examine. When you click OK , the Baseline Normalized Metrics page reappears with data for the specified time period. If you want to view another time period, click Edit to change the beginning and ending times.

Selecting a Noise Reduction Value

The Noise Reduction feature reduces the "noise" in the signal. Low removes all of the least significant events from the display, and High removes all but the most significant events from the display.
