Add Aggregate Service: Subservices Page

Aggregate services consist of one or more services, called subservices. A subservice is any service created in Enterprise Manager Grid Control. The availability, performance, and usage for the aggregate service depend on the availability, performance, and usage for the individual subservices comprising the service. Refer to About Services for more information on aggregate services.

This page allows you to:

Note: The availability for a subservice may depend on the successful execution of a service test or on the availability of the system components on which the subservice runs, depending how the subservice was defined. There is no separate availability definition for aggregate services: Availability for the aggregate service depends, simply, on the availability of its constituent subservices.

You can choose to define the availability status for your aggregate service as ALL subservices UP, or AT LEAST ONE subservice UP.

Warning: If you delete or remove a subservice from an aggregate service, the aggregate service performance and usage metrics may be affected if they are based on a deleted subservice's metrics. Make sure to consider the impacts of deleting subservices before doing so.
