Aggregate services consist of one or more services, called subservices. A subservice is any service created in Enterprise Manager Grid Control. The availability, performance, usage and business processes for the aggregate service depend on the availability, performance, usage and business processes for the individual subservices comprising the service. Refer to About Services for more information on aggregate services.
Use this page to define the business metrics that will be used to measure the performance of the processes in business. You can add business metrics from single subservices, or based on statistical aggregations of more than one metric. Once you have selected business metrics, you can set the thresholds used to generate critical and warning alerts, or remove metrics you no longer want.
Note: If you delete a metric, this will impact the business metrics of the aggregate or generic service that depend on this metric.
Business metrics are based on business indicators that are used to assess the performance of the business.
On this page, you can add only system based metrics. You can configure non-system based metrics by using the Data Exchange feature which facilitates data transfer between Enterprise Manager Grid Control and other external monitoring systems. For more information, refer to About Data Exchange.
