Enterprise Manager allows you to send e-mails whenever the Oracle Management Services (OMS) is starts, stops, or terminates abnormally. Activation of this feature is controlled by entries in the sysman/config/emoms.properties file. These entries are as follows:
em_oob_startup=true
em_oob_shutdown=true
em_oob_crash=true
These emoms.properties file entries instruct Enterprise Manager to access the following scripts:
All of these scripts can be run stand-alone to verify that they work.
If the emoms.properties entries are set to true (as shown above), they will attempt to send e-mail when invoked. Any other values (or if the entries do not exist) will cause the scripts to simply return. The default is for the entries to be set to false.
The scripts use email addresses defined in emoms.properties:
em_email_address=anita.holser@oracle.com,aholser@yahoo.com
em_from_email_address=aholser@yahoo.com
The em_email_address can contain a series of email addresses separated by commas.
