Editing Metric Threshold Settings for a Target

Metric alert thresholds specify boundary values against which monitored metrics are evaluated. If the value of a monitored metric crosses the threshold for a significant number of occurrences (these are predefined based on the metric); then, a warning or critical alert is generated.

If you have more stringent or lax requirements than the defaults that Oracle provides for the metrics, you can change them.

To edit the metrics threshold settings for a target:

  1. From the Enterprise Manager Console, click the Targets tab.

  2. Click on a Target subtab, or perform a search for the target you want.

  3. Select the target by clicking on its name.

  4. In the target's homepage which is shown, click Metric and Policy Settings in the Related Links section.

  5. Modify the metric thresholds.
