You cannot add Host targets or Agent targets using the Grid Control pages. Instead, these target types appear automatically in the Grid Control after you install the Oracle Management Agent on a host computer.
After you install the Oracle Management Agent on a host and the Management Agent starts communicating with the Oracle Management Service, the host target and the Management Agent target appear automatically in the list of targets within the Grid Control.
There are two ways to install the Oracle Management Agent on a host:
You can use the Oracle Universal Installer and the Oracle Enterprise Manager installation procedure to install the Management Agent on one host at a time.
You can use the Agent Download procedure to install the Management Agent on multiple hosts, using the operating system command line, an Oracle-provided script, and an Oracle-provided Oracle Universal Installer response file.
