By default, when a target is added to the Enterprise Manager Repository, it is automatically granted access to all applicable management packs. The dependent targets are granted access on these packs as well.
This Management Pack Access page allows you, as the Super Administrator, to manage access on any individual pack for licensable targets according to the licenses you have purchased from Oracle.
After you have added a new target and you have reviewed the access to the applicable packs, you are expected to agree to the terms of the License Agreement by explicitly selecting the Pack Access Agreed checkbox for that target.
For example, if your company has purchased a licensing agreement for the Database Configuration Pack for only one database, then you would deny access to the Database Configuration Pack for all the other databases displayed on this screen.
The Licensing Framework propagates the License Information to related dependent licensable targets, as well.
To modify pack access information for a target:
For the target listed in the Name column, choose the Packs for which you have access and click the box for that pack. (A check mark appears.)
The Pack Access Agreed option is available for Selection only for a newly added target for which you have not accepted the terms of the Licensing Agreement.
Click Apply to save your changes. Once access is added, the functionality associated with the selected pack is available for any targets managed by Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
Note the following:
You must have Super Administrator privileges to change access to the Enterprise Manager Packs.
An unchecked item in the Pack Access Agreed column indicates that the System Administrator has not addressed the pack access for that target according to the licensing agreement with Oracle.
In the case where a pack is not applicable for a target, the check box related to that pack is disabled, that is, grayed out. For example, the Application Server Configuration Pack is not applicable to a database instance.
Clicking Apply commits the changes to the database.
Clicking Revert retrieves the last committed data and displays the information. The changes that were made on the screen are lost.
