Add Hardware: Properties Page

Use this page to add the hardware servers to a suite instance.

When you add/remove hardware to an already provisioned suite instance, this will be treated a new assignment and a job for this activity will be triggered. You can go to the Jobs page on the Grid Control console to view the job status. See About Jobs for more information on Jobs.

In this page, you must create a new assignment to add new hardware servers to the selected suite instance.

Every suite instance comprises one suite image, which in turn comprises many images (both single-server and cluster.) The Add Hardware assignment creation wizard will display as many steps as the number of images that the associated suite image contains. For example, if the associated suite image is made up of three images (Cluster1, Cluster2, and Single_Server1) the Add Hardware assignment creation wizard will take you through the following four steps before you can submit this assignment:

  1. Step 1: Configure assignment properties

  2. Step 2: Add hardware to Cluster1

  3. Step 3: Add hardware to Cluster2

  4. Step 4: Add hardware to Single_Server1

Note: You can add multiple hardware servers to a cluster image. A single-server image will be associated to only one hardware server.
