| Page Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Network Device Name | Enter an appropriate name for the new network device. |
| Logical Network Name | Enter a logical network name. |
| Host Name | Enter the host name that is assigned to the machine. |
| Domain Name | Enter a domain name. |
| Address Type | From the drop-down list, select the address type (DHCP or Static). If you select the address type to be assigned by DHCP, the network device can be configured to have a different IP address every time it connects to the network. If you select Static as the address type, you will be required to manually assign a unique IP address to the network device. |
| IP Address | Depending on the selection you made in the above field (Address Type), enter a unique IP address for the new network device that you are creating. |
| Subnet Mask | Enter the appropriate subnet mask value here. This will help determine what subnet an IP address belongs to. |
| Gateways | Enter an appropriate gateway for the new network device. This gateway serves as an entrance point to an outside network. This gateway node also acts as a proxy server. Depending on your enterprise requirement, proxy server access may require user authentication. Oracle supports Basic Proxy Server Authentication. |
