Use this page to configure a set of software components, including the operating system, and bundle them together to be provisioned to the hardware servers.
An image can be defined as a specific set of software components, including the operating system, that is bundled together, along with any collateral required by the installation process (such as directives and configuration information). Images are provisioned on one or more hardware targets.
The image component in Provisioning will provide a complete list of all software and configuration information that is required to provision a hardware server.
Software versions indicate the specific release of a product, a release modified by a patch, and/or a software bundle released or packaged by the vendor.
The Oracle Software Library maintains these software components.
You can view a list of existing images based on different versions of the images (such as Latest Version, Latest Active Version, Latest Mature Version, All Inactive Versions, and All Mature Versions).
These values in the drop-down list help perform a search based on a combination of values.
| Version | Description |
|---|---|
| Latest Version | Search for latest version of all available images. This will retrieve the current version of all images, irrespective of their status (that is Active or Inactive). |
| Latest Active Version | This search is a combination of version and status. This will retrieve the current version of all images that are in the Active state only. |
| Latest Mature Version | This search is a combination of version, maturity value, and status. It will retrieve the current version of all images that are in the Active state and have the highest maturity value (Production). |
| All Mature Versions | This search is a combination of maturity values, and status. It will retrieve images of all versions that are active and have the highest maturity value (Production). |
| All Inactive Versions | This search will retrieve images of all versions that are inactive only. |
In the View drop-down list, select the required value to view a list of the selected version of the Images.
You can also perform a search for the required images by clicking Advanced Search.

| Promote | Increment the status of the selected image. |
| Demote | Decrement the status of the selected image. |
| Deactivate | Deactivate the selected image. |
| Delete | Delete the selected image. |
| Assign Hardware | Select an image and click this button to choose the hardware servers on which you want to provision the selected image. You can assign multiple hardware servers to an image. Note: The hardware servers that you assign to a Single-Server Image type will be independent of each other, although they have the same image running on them. But, the hardware servers that you assign to an Image Cluster will not only run this image on each machine, but also communicate with each other as they would be part of a cluster (group). |
