Use this page to create the command line arguments to configure the new Directive.
Here, you must specify the following:
| Page Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Argument Prefix | This should be a switch or a constant command line argument. The Argument Prefix eliminates the impractical and often error-prone task of manually specifying the order of the parameter executions in a given directive. This is specially true when a directive is made of multiple parameters. For example, let us take a simple directive that has only two parameters: filename, and portnumber - test.pl <filename> <portnumber> (without the argument prefix). If the directive has to be successfully executed, these parameters have to be specified in the correct sequence, as shown in the example. If you had to use the argument prefix for the above example, it would read thus: test.pl -filename <filename> -portnumber <portnumber> The use of argument prefixes would be more appreciated when the directives you create contain multiple parameters that need to be sequenced appropriately. It is recommended that you always create command line arguments using an Argument Prefix. |
| Property Name | This must be a string variable. |
| Argument Suffix | Specify the text that must follow the command line property. Though the suffix is rarely used, it determines how the parameters must be executed, based on the suffix value. |
