Enterprise Manager Reports Web Site

Information Publisher allows you to make generated reports available to non-Enterprise Manager administrators. This allows you to make important information readily available to decision makers within your enterprise without having log into Enterprise Manager Grid Control. These reports can be bookmarked for easy access from any web browser.

Important: Use caution when granting non-credentialed access to reports.

Accessing Public Reports

When you install Enterprise Manager Grid Control, the Enterprise Manager Reports Web site is automatically installed and configured. The sole purpose of this Web site is to provide access to reports without having to log into Enterprise Manager: Report users can bookmark the Web site for quick access.

The generic Enterprise Manager Reports Web site URL is:

http://hostname:port/em/public/reports

The URL for this site is automatically set when Enterprise Manager is installed. A link to this site can be found on the Create/Edit Report Definition Access page and the Reports tab.

Differences Between non-Credentialed and Credentialed User Reports

Enterprise Manager Reports Web site reports, because they do not require logging into Enterprise Manager, have certain limitations.

Creating Public Access Reports

  1. Create or edit a report definition.

  2. On the General page, select the Use the specified target option.

  3. On the Schedule page, ensure that the report will be generated automatically if you want the public access report to be updated on a regular basis. By default, one report will be generated and published to the public Web site when you finish editing the report definition definition if you choose the Schedule Report option. Scheduling reports made available to non-credentialed users may reduce system resource consumption as the report is only generated per the schedule not on-demand as viewed by the non-credentialed user.

  4. On the Access page, select the Allow viewing without logging into Enterprise Manager option.

  5. Click OK.
