Report definitions form the basis of the reporting framework by defining for each report, the report properties including report content, user access, and scheduling of report generation. Enterprise Manager comes with comprehensive set of predefined report definitions that allow you to start generating reports out-of-box. However, as an integral part of the Enterprise Manager Grid Control console, you can easily create new report definitions to meet your enterprise reporting requirements. Information Publisher uses the report definition to generate HTML-based reports.
In addition to the administrative properties, a report definition also consists of one or more report elements. Report elements are the building blocks for report content. Information Publisher comes with a customizable set of report elements that allow you to extract information and format that information into a coherent HTML-based report.
